Who is IPET?

The Vancouver PETSCAN Centre was owned and operated by International PET Diagnostics Inc. (IPET), a British Columbia corporation. The Vancouver PETSCAN Centre was the first privately held, fee for use, dedicated clinical PET facility in Canada.

International PET Diagnostics Inc. was established in January 1999 with the goal of bringing clinical PET diagnostics to Canada. The Vancouver PETSCAN Centre began operating in October 2000. The Vancouver PETSCAN Centre represented an investment of approximately $4 million, including the cost of building the facility at the BC Research and Innovation Complex, the PET scanner, associated computer hardware and laboratory equipment.

The Vancouver PETSCAN Centre ceased operations in November, 2007. A new clinic, the Centre for Advanced Diagnostics, operating a PET/CT scanner, has been opened by Premier Diagnostic Health Services.
